Taking inspiration from the classic animated films of Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, these fantasy art prints take a minimalist approach to their design as well as featuring a significant icon from each film. This listing is for all nine 11×17 prints from the collection.
It all begins with (in my case) a terrible sketch of my next project.
From that sketch, I take to my tablet and begin to form small ideas, color stories, design elements which eventually coalesce into the final product as you will see in the gallery below.
The inspiration for these pieces were stained glass art (for style), illuminated manuscripts (for layout), and of course the subject matter is inspired by the films of Hayao Miyazaki and the animated film studio; Studio Ghibli.

When World Collide is a classic science fiction movie from the ’50s chronicling the final days of humanity as a star hurtled towards Earth and the hope for survival rests on an accompanying planetoid. I took my inspiration from classic scifi infographic and chalkboard schematic drawings. This 11×17 prints has fine detailed textures as well as intense asymmetry and dynamic movement through the planetary tracks, the space ark route and magnetic field lines.
